Former South Moon Under model climbs the ladder to success
At the young age of 18, Kaitlin Kaiser is already getting a taste of fame through her modeling career and her more recent endeavor of acting. As the youngest of five, this Baltimore-bred beauty is proving to everyone that determination, hard work, and staying true to one’s self can surely pay off. Though Kaitlin is happy with her blooming career, she is still a down-to-Earth teenager who loves to dance and admire the likes of actor Johnny Depp. Michelle and Diana from our marketing team sat down with the former South Moon Under model to talk about her recent success, her future, and what makes her tick.
South Moon Under: We’re so happy to have you back on old stomping-grounds modeling some of our new pieces! What are some of your favorite pieces from your own closet?
Kaitlin: Thank you – It’s great to see old friends again! From my own closet I have to say I’m in love with my shoes, especially my Baker boots. I also can’t live without my pair of old worn-in jeans. Louis Vuitton and Fendi bags – the list goes on…
South Moon Under: Which three adjectives best describe you?
Kaitlin: Sweet, humble, blunt.
South Moon Under: If you were stranded on a desert island, which three things would you have to have?
Kaitlin: I would say mascara, my cell phone, and a magazine, like Cosmopolitan or InStyle.
South Moon Under: Besides modeling and acting, what do you like to do on your free time?
Kaitlin: I love traveling to NYC whenever I can. Dancing (especially to house music), watching The Food Network, and spending time with friends and family.
South Moon Under: Having started modeling as a way to help save for college tuition to now getting cast for movies… That’s quite a leap! Tell us more about your journey to success.
Kaitlin: I didn’t really discover my passion for modeling until after I started working more consistently. I guess my big break came when I was discovered by a director and cast in an independent film in South Carolina. Doors started to really open for me from that point on. A huge part of my success has to be credited to my Mom for all her support and guidance throughout this process.
South Moon Under: What projects are you currently working on?
Kaitlin: Right now I’m about to start filming for a supernatural thriller called The Frozen. I play the character Elizabeth, a mysteriously beautiful Russian peasant girl, who everyone thinks to be a witch. She is frozen and a spell is cast on the whole town. It’s been such an exciting process – I’m even learning to speak Russian!

South Moon Under: Sounds like a scary one! Tell us what it’s like to see yourself in magazines or on television.
Kaitlin: It’s surreal. You’re like, “Wow, I did that!” You’re very proud of yourself.
South Moon Under: We’re proud of you as well! Where do you see yourself in the future?
Kaitlin: On the red carpet. I want to model and act more, of course. I’d love to own restaurants and have multiple homes from NYC to CA, and a villa in Bora Bora!
South Moon Under: What advice would you give other girls who want to break into the industry?
Kaitlin: You have to be yourself, no matter what… and don’t be afraid. You have to just keep going and to not let anything or anyone hold you back. Believe in yourself, always.
South Moon Under: Great words of wisdom to follow! We can’t wait to see what else is in store for you, Kaitlin. Thank you so much for talking with us. Come back and visit again soon!
Kaitlin: Thanks guys!
