Complaints arose soon after the phone's release that when your hand touches a certain spot on the phone, where a gap in the antenna is located, reception weakens. Because this was a new antenna design, this problem hadn't happened with the iPhone 3GS. After many tests, Consumer Reports confirmed the reception problem and decided not to reccomend the product.
