What does day-glo mean anyway you ask!? If you are as confused by the term as I am...don't worry I have done a little expert research!
According to the all knowing google gods, day-glo is "a trademark used for flourescent coloring agents and materials..." (freedictionary.com)
Now that makes sense...because all of the so called "day-glo" lips dominating Spring runways were ultra bright, very colorful, hard to miss...and therefore so day-glo!
Jil Sander, DVF, and Marni Spring/Summer 2011 all did the day-glo in pinks and oranges.
.Marc Jacobs went with an orange day-glo lip for his Spring/Summer showing. Orange is all the rage and this pop of color went perfect with his vintage designs.
The key to this trend is to leave the lip gloss out of it! This look is perfect for day time but you have to leave the look matte!
TWIGGY did the day-glo too! OF COURSE she did...just more proof this is the year to go RETRO! Now I am totally loving that eye makeup...hmmm..new project!? :)
