Every women has some sort of fashion addiction whether it be makeup, earrings, clothing, or handbags, however, I have come to find that most women have major shoe fetishes (me being one of them). To give you a bit of my background, I have always been a shoe girl seeing how my parents have been in the shoe industry pretty much their entire lives. In fact, that's how they met! My mother was working at a shoe store called Hot Foot in Philadelphia and my father was the manager! Fast forward 30 years, 3 kids and a few jobs later, my parents now own and operate their very own shoe company called Penny loves Kenny Shoes (check them out!) So I pretty much came out of the womb saying “Hello Lova!” as said by the shoe queen Carrie Bradshaw, to every pair shoes I have come into contact with.
Anyways, shoes are fabulous because they help identify a part of you and also give a sense of theme to an outfit. For example, these two shoes by Michael Kors give a sense of sleek sophistication to any outfit by adding height and slenderizing your foot with all black. They are shoes of empowerment that would be a fashion DO for the office. Just because you might have to wear boring suits all day long doesn’t mean your feet can’t look extraordinary.
Lets move onto wedges. What a great invention if you ask me! Unfortunately I suffer from bad feet so wearing heels all the time can make my feet bark like a bloodhound. If any of you ladies feel my pain, you know what I mean when I say THANK GOODNESS for wedges. This particular style fully supports your foot with a double platform construction. These wedges by Envy for example, are particularly supportive, but give off a very flirty vibe at the same time. Pair it with any Maxi or daytime look and you’ll be a super star!
What I love most about shoes is the fact that no matter how big, small, tall, or short one might be, the show always fits. Cinderella made us believe a shoe can change the course of a woman’s life, and if you think about it, they can! Anywhere you travel on this earth, the soul of shoe is always making contact with the soil. Our experiences and adventures are only enhanced and made possible because of the right pair of shoes. Goodness knows I wouldn’t be able to go rock climbing barefoot or in heels & I definitely wouldn’t want to go dancing in sneakers or flip-flops. Shoes give us a sense of identity and purpose for the occasion we are attending. Don’t underestimate the power of the shoe you are wearing because in the end the lower construction of a shoe is not called a "sole" for no reason.
