We have a new addition to our Buying Team...the beautiful and fabulous...Melissa Bona! Melissa has been brought in as a member of the shoe buying team (talk about a dream job!). Now, while she is new to our Buying Team...she isn't a newbie to South Moon Under. Melissa has been with us as a store manager in our DC market since 2009 and her impeccable eye for style of course has gone unnoticed and has landed her one of the best jobs any girl could dream of...buying shoes for a living!
Lucky for us, I convinced Melissa to give us the inside scoop on what we can expect in shoes for this Fall! Read below for her "tell all"...

I feel like I have been zapped back to life! Fall shoes were so exciting to see at market on my last New York Trip. I felt like Carrie Bradshaw standing outside the glass with my nose press against it wishing for those coveted styles.
I am happy to share that the South Moon Under has an amazing assortment for Fall and if I don’t say so myself some of the best shoes around! Here is just a quick sneak peek of what is to come, don’t worry I am not going to share everything. You will just have to stop one of our 15 locations or online to see more.
Shoe Booties- We have so many styles in this category from lace up, wedged, to your sleek chic day to night style for that fashionista on the go! This trend is HUGE for fall and can been worn with skits, shorts, dresses, and jeans. My favorites of this classification are the Steve Madden “Crazie” covered platform lace up and the Sam Edelman “Louie’ fringe boot that will be hitting stores in early Novemeber! If that seems like a long time to wait don’t worry we have Nine West “Check It” lace up stacked heel bootie that will be hitting stores in early September! In fact... I think I am going to buy that one myself! I mean you can never have enough shoes, right!!!
Its All About Neutrals: Say good bye to those fashion rules of not wearing light colors after Labor day ...Because Taupe is the color of the season! I find that this is a great transitional color to take your wardrobe from summer to fall with out being so dramatic. We have the Chelsea Crew “Collette” round toe wedge that hit stores already! This shoe is a MUST HAVE for now and can take you thru the fall season by pairing it with tights. I always choose grey tights when wearing taupe; it is less dramatic and easier to pull off. If you want to rock the Motorcycle look choose the DV by Dolce Vita “Zela” hitting stores this week! This is a perfect tall boot that can be worn with denim, leggings and dresses!!
Return if the Ballet Flat: Can you say “Lady Like” fashion with a twist! Ballet flats were the thing to have a few years ago and then all of a sudden they were no more. But don’t worry they are back in a big way! It is all about being able to wear them with your skinny’s and shorts for a little edge! Shop Our Yosi Samara “Pony Hair” ballet flat with stretch! They are so comfortable and they are perfect for traveling since they come with a great little travel bag that you can fold them up and stick in your purse.
