Happy FRIDAY! :)
This week, I wanted to share with you a super easy DIY.. a fishtail skirt! It was inspired by my NASTY GAL fishtail skirt that I currently own (picture below- see more of the post here). I chose to use this leopard maxi that I had sitting in my closet. I thrifted it while in Dallas over the summer. It's so easy to find maxi skirts for a cheap price in thrift stores that are perfect to cut up for this DIY. I totally recommend going to one near you!

Oh, and the steps are super easy:
- Try the skirt on and pin it in the front where you want the shortest part to be.
- Lay flat on a table and cut it, first in a straight line for a few inches, then curving down.
- As you can see, I cut the skirt again to make it look like even more like a fishtail.
- Simply pin and hem! Viola!
I wish that I would have used a more pleated skirt or one that had a little more movement, but I still like how this turned out. Once I throw on some tights and heels, I'm ready to go! See a more descriptive post here on Free People's blog.
