Summer brights are at an all time high this summer-- in numbers and wattage. Neon is all the rage right now and being worn by both conservative and fearless fashionistas alike! From the runways of Jil Sander and Burberry to the streets of most stylish cities, the neon and neutral trend is not one to miss out on.These highlighter brights can be difficult to wear on their own, but when paired with subdued neutrals you can create a look that's shockingly chic look without looking like a traffic sign.

                                     Neon + Neutrals

What I love about this trend is that it's flexible-- you can wear easily experiment with neon in your clothing, accessories, nails, make-up, shoes- the list goes on and on! If you're just becoming acquainted with neon, try incorporating neon accessories into your outfits such as a skinny belt or statement earrings. If you're a neon-wearing veteran, try reversing the trend and make your outfit predominantly bright with neutral accessories or shoes to mix it up. (See, I told you the possibilities are endless!) This trend is also outfit appropriate for many occasions. From a casual day at the beach to a night out on the town with friends, adding a neon element gives any ensemble an extra pop, especially against sunkissed skin!

A few pointers to keep in mind as you venture over to the bright side...

    1. Stick to one neon color per outfit. Overdoing it will could result in blinding yourself and/or others.
    2. Choose your neutrals wisely. Stick to tones of tan-khaki, sand, camel etc., as these provide the best contrast with neon. However, white can also work for pinks and purples.
